Now Here

Messages that exist in place and time.

Download for iOS How it works

Drop a message. Walk away.

Messages only appear when the recipient is physically there, within the time window you set.

1

Pick a place

Tap the map to set a location and radius. A cafe, a trailhead, your front door.

2

Set a window

Choose when the message is active. An hour, a weekend, or forever.

3

Pick who

Select contacts. Only mutual contacts can exchange messages. No strangers, no spam.

4

They arrive, it appears

When your contact enters the area during the time window, the message is revealed on their device.

Messages that belong somewhere

When place and time are the context, the message speaks for itself.

Restaurant recommendations

Leave a note at your favorite spot. Your friend discovers it when they walk in. No need to remember to text them.

Arrival reminders

Leave a note for your partner at the grocery store: the list they always forget. It appears when they arrive.

Travel breadcrumbs

Traveling ahead of a friend? Leave notes at the places worth stopping. They discover each one as they arrive.

Time capsules

Leave a message that activates next year on someone's birthday, at the place you first met. Set it and forget it.

Scavenger hunts

Chain location-gated notes into a trail. Each one leads to the next. The final one reveals at the destination.

Event coordination

Leave directions or a welcome note at a venue. Guests see it when they arrive, not buried in a group chat.

Place and time, built in

Every feature is designed around the idea that where and when a message is read matters as much as what it says.

Location-gated delivery

Messages are only revealed when the recipient is physically inside the area you chose. Not before, not outside.

Time windows

Set an active period for any message. After the window closes, the message expires. Or leave it open-ended for permanent notes.

Mutual contacts only

Both people must add each other before messages can flow. No strangers, no spam, no unsolicited messages from anyone.

Map-native interface

Everything lives on a map centered on you. Nearby messages and rooms appear as you move. Hints show what's just out of reach — walk a little further to find out.

Group chat, anchored to a place

Rooms are time-limited, location-bound group chats. They appear on the map when you're nearby and disappear when they expire.

  • Pseudonymous by default. No name or phone number revealed.
  • Gated join: knock, wait for admin approval.
  • Rooms last from 1 hour to 1 week. When the time's up, they're gone.
  • Become contacts inside a room, then start a group to keep talking after it expires.

Coordinate at events

Create a room at a conference, market, or meetup. People nearby can knock to join. It disappears when the event ends.

Meet people nearby

Connect with people in the same place. Become contacts, start a group, and keep the conversation going after the room is gone.

Waiting rooms

Stuck at the airport, a clinic, or a queue? Drop a room. Others nearby join to pass the time. It's gone when you leave.

Travel groups

Drop a room at a hostel or campsite. Fellow travelers join, share tips, coordinate plans. It expires when you move on.

Your messages are yours

Now Here is end-to-end encrypted. The server stores and delivers encrypted blobs — it never sees your content, your location, or who you're talking to.

Messages are encrypted on your device before they leave it. The server never sees the content.

Location filtering happens entirely on-device. The server never receives or stores any location data.

No account, no email, no phone number. Your identity is a keypair on your device, backed up with a 12-word recovery phrase.

Sealed delivery hides sender identity from the server. Your contact sees who sent it. The infrastructure does not.
